NovaGuard 890 is a solvent-free, phenolic, novolac epoxy tank lining that meets the
latest chemical resistance requirements of the petrochemical industry, including all levels of
ethanol in blends of gasoline and biodiesel grades. The coating is designed for application
by standard airless spray equipment and is ideally suited for the lining of new tanks and the major
refurbishment of old tanks, including tank bottom repair as a reinforced lining.

NOVAGUARD 890 is an important product for the petrochemical industry today due to emerging
transportation fuel trends including:
• Widespread use of ethanol as an oxygenate in gasoline. Depending on local regulation,
typical gasoline's in use vary from 5% ethanol (E5) up to 95% ethanol (E95) .
• Increased use of biodiesel as a clean-burning alternative fuel. Biodiesel can be blended at
any level with petroleum diesel to create a biodiesel blend. Typical grades of biodiesel include 85, which is a blend of 5% fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) and conventional diesel, and higher grades
